I am a visual artist in Calgary, Canada. I am interested in the in-between, that space of uncertainty and ambiguity between one thing and another. Space and place as intersections of our lives, often with elements of the uncanny, that become memories. Memories as fragments of meaning that change with time and place.
I make photographs, photomontage and moving images, both as looped stills and videos with sound. My work is held in private and public collections across Canada.
I have an MA in Political Science from Carleton University and an MFA in photography from the University of Calgary. After a long career in survey research, with an important coda as an adviser for the United Nations in sub-Saharan Africa, I now locate myself in a space defined primarily by art, a space that has been part of me for many, many years. The MFA degree is a bridge in the transition from one profession to another.
